Mississippi's Private Duty Nursing Provider.

Caring for a child with special needs can be challenging. With trusted care and compassion our goal is to give each child the best possible opportunity to reach their health goals. At PediCare, we work closely with families to meet needs and incorporate goals in developing and carrying out your child’s plan of care.

Private duty nursing provides hourly care to patients where care feels best – in the home. Care can last from four to 24 hours a day with our registered nurses and licensed practical nurses focused on providing excellent short-term and long-term clinical care to medically fragile children.

Services

Respiratory Care

Stable chronic lung or airway complications can often be safely managed at home with parental education and nursing care. Our nurses use the doctors’ orders to give care specific to each child.

PediCare provides both guidance and trusted hands-on care for children with chronic respiratory failure, artificial airways, non-invasive airway support, progressive neuromuscular disease, and complex technological needs with multi-organ failure.

Feeding problems are one of the most common medical complications in children and can be managed in many different ways. Once your doctors choose the best way to provide nutrition for your child, we will make sure that care can be safely continued at home. PediCare nurses ensure that the patient receives the ordered solution and additives at the ordered rate.

Particular care is required if the patient has more than one IV line or pump to ensure that lines are not mixed up. When an IV bag is changed or if medications are being added to one of the lines, it must be identified and tracked back to the solution source to verify that the additive is being added to the correct line. Our nurses are also trained to perform thorough IV Maintenance and IV Site Assessments/Care to help avoid any complications.

Neurological Disorders

Treating neurological conditions often requires ongoing medical care. Children suffering from neurological disorders range in severity from chronic to severe. Constant monitoring is necessary for some children, which can be overwhelming for a busy family. More and more families are choosing in-home care to treat these disorders. In all but the most severe cases, children can receive care that is comparable to what they would receive in a medical facility yet in the comfort of your home.

Aside from the added convenience and comfort, the cost is often lower with in-home care as opposed to treatment of the same condition in a facility. Our nurses can help provide the caring support for your child and reduce your stress. Since the need for care doesn’t end when the sun goes down, PediCare also offers in-home night care as well.

Routine hygiene and activities of daily living can be more challenging for some children. Children with gastrointestinal conditions can benefit significantly from in-home pediatric care. Whether your child needs short-term or long-term care, PediCare offers them personalized private-duty nursing within their usual support system of family and friends.

PediCare can help you find the easiest and safest ways to receive care, while making your child feel comfortable. Our nurses also use methods suggested by your child’s Physical or Occupational Therapists during our care.
